"Tips for a Sustainable Planet" Series Segments:
"Too Many Straws" — In this segment, teens takes a look at the environmental impact of one-use plastic straws and what everyone can do to help.
"Teens Eating Healthy" — This segment focuses on the not-so-healthy foods and beverages that teens eat, and suggests how they might change their diets and eating behaviors for a more healthy lifestyle.

Shine On, Chicago is partnering with Community TV Network to create teen-produced videos that highlight Chicago companies who are on the forefront of sustainable products and services.
The program is designed to teach teens about the important of thinking about sustainability – while also teaching them the production tools & editing techniques that can help them with potential jobs in the industry.
Once they learn the skills and have the knowledge to discover sustainable, eco-friendly opportunities in Chicago, they help create 2-minute videos that document what they learn!

Teen Segments Created for a Wider Audience

The teen-produced video segments will be professional enough to run on local Chicago TV stations, as well as be featured on the websites of the companies that the teens interview.
Teens get paid to shoot and edit segments for "Tips for a Sustainable Planet", and are mentored by industry professionals to encourage them to pursue careers in the television and broadcasting business.
